Schrottplatz

© Thomas Aurin
Lehmen talks to the things to reveal to them insights of the world: He
explains the cable to the tomato, the artwork to the ball, the newspaper
to the canned sardines, he explains himself and the audience to them,
and illustrates for all of them his choreographic ideas. The things are
interested as well in what people are doing in the world, what they know
about themselves and their environment, what they understand and what
they don’t understand. The more Lehmen tries to capture the different
phenomenons through explanations, the more they lose their credibility.
The more answers fill the room, the more the unknown and the boundaries
of the ascertainable become present.
In the moment of the encounter with the absurd and with the
confrontation of the own 'not-understanding', art can create over and
over new models for temporary realities.
